The Proyecto Mariposas is a non-profit organization that provides an environment of learning, sharing and support to Latina Girls and their mothers.
We began our journey on July 16th, 2011 with four girls and their mothers. Our vision has been to develop brave girls and strong women. Through our programs we build self-esteem, encourage risk taking and create a community of love and learning. We work with Latina girls ages 2-17 in Columbus, OH by providing activities that are focused on culture, development and health. We want our girls and mothers to be physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally healthy. We do this through our approach and programs.
We focus on building the relationship of mother-daughter. By educating and building the self–esteem of girls and women, we are also building the family and the community. We have Values that guide our actions. We encourage communication. We are also committed to utilizing the Developmental Assets Identified by the Search Institute.Download
