Fourth Day of Camp

WooHoo! Field-trip Day!

We visited OCHLA in the Vern Riffe center to learn about how the commission serves as a liaison between government and the Hispanic/Latino community in Ohio and advocates the development and implementation of policies and programs to address the needs of the Hispanic/Latino Ohioans, especially but not limited to education, employment, economic development, health and housing.

We then got a tour of the statehouse, followed by lunch at the Columbus Commons. After lunch we all met Barrel the puppy who showered us with puppy kisses. We ended the day by walking in the rain to visit a gallery showing curated by Natalia Sanchez, the artist who worked with the us on group mandala mural.
