Standing Tall & Proud as a Latina / Orgullosa de Ser Latina

My ability to speak another language also opens up doors to more opportunities plus something else I can add to my resume. There are also scholarship opportunities you can get for being latina. Some of the not so bright moments are like when you get discriminated against for being different like for me in school I was discriminated by some because I am hispanic and others would say I was “too pale” to be Mexican. But apart from all the things they say I can still stand tall and proudly say “I Am Latina!” Those experiences have taught me to be Brave and stand up for myself and who I am, Strong and not care about what others say about me, and finally Real because stuff like that happen to many of people everyday but thanks to God I have overcome those challenges in my life. I can live happily and hopefully one day I can help others in similar situations or just help the world be a better place for all.

Orgullosa de Ser Latina

Siendo una joven Latina aquí tiene sus ventajas como poder ser parte de las Mariposas. Mi habilidad de poder hablar dos idiomas me abre las puertas para muchas otras oportunidades también hay becas para la escuela que puedo agarrar por ser latina. Una cosa que hace ser latina dificil es cuando te discriminan como en mi caso muchos me trataron diferente por ser latina o otros me dicen que soy muy “blanca” para ser Mexicana. Pero sobre todo yo puedo decir orgullosamente que “Yo Soy Latina!” Esas experiencias me han hecho Valiente porque ahora yo puedo ser feliz como yo soy y no me importa lo que digan los demás. Soy Fuerte porque pude superar a lo que un dia me hizo daño. Finalmente soy Real porque cosas como esas les pasan a muchos pero gracias a Dios aquí estoy más feliz que nunca y con la inspiración de salir adelante y hacer un cambio para que el mundo sea un lugar mejor para todos.
