Brazos de Amistad

Friendship in Every Thread

Brazos de Amistad (“Arms of Friendship”) brings people together to spread kindness—one bracelet at a time. Volunteers gather to create colorful friendship bracelets that are delivered to students through our school programming and community resource tables.

The initiative began in 2023 with a joyful celebration of Friendship Day (July 30th), where friends, families, and volunteers joined in creativity and connection. Each bracelet carries a simple but powerful message: you are seen, valued, and not alone.

Why it matters

Friendship bracelets are more than just decoration—they’re small circles of encouragement that remind students they belong.

This outreach connects volunteers directly to our Mariposas mission, offering a tangible way to share positivity and hope. We believe that surrounding yourself with kindness and affirmation can have a profound impact on mental health and community well-being.

How often does it happen and who can participate?

Bracelet-making happens quarterly, with special gatherings throughout the year.

Everyone is welcome! Whether you’re a student, parent, teacher, or community member, you can:

  • Attend our quarterly event

  • Gather your own group to create bracelets together

  • Deliver messages of friendship to students across Central Ohio

Join our next Bracelet Day (check the calendar for dates!)

How much does it cost?

There’s no cost to join a bracelet event!
If you’d like to support, you can donate materials directly or purchase from our Amazon Wishlist to help keep the creativity flowing.

Brazos de Amistad reminds us that friendship doesn’t need words—it just needs heart.
