Girls Summit

Empowering Voices, Celebrating Culture

The Girl Summit is an annual gathering that brings together all the participants from Proyecto Mariposas’ in-school programs.

This special event is more than a conference — it’s a celebration of identity, leadership, and belonging. The Summit provides a safe and joyful space where Latina girls can connect with one another, share their stories, and discover the power of their voices and their culture.

Why It Matters

The Girl Summit is a powerful reminder that Latina girls are not alone — they are part of a vibrant, supportive community.

By the end of the day, participants will:

  • Connect with a larger network of Latina girls across Central Ohio

  • Celebrate the achievements of High School Seniors

  • Encourage one another to continue their education journeys

  • Learn about key resources in education, health, gender equality, and conflict resolution

  • Support each other through empowering connections with mentors and peers

High school participants also receive credit hours toward graduation for attending the Summit — a celebration that gives back in more ways than one.

Who Can Attend?

Girls in 4th through 12th grade who are active participants in the Mariposas in-school program are invited to attend and take part in this inspiring day of learning and celebration.

The Girl Summit is where Latina girls find their voices, celebrate their strength, and take flight together.

When Does It Happen?

The Girl Summit is held once a year in March, marking a vibrant moment of empowerment and connection for our Mariposas community.

What Does It Cost?

The event is completely free for girls who are part of Proyecto Mariposas’ in-school programming.
